1ST DEGREE REIKI
1st Degree Reiki is a two-day workshop combining both Japanese and Western Reiki techniques with four spiritual attunements to enable you to self-heal and treat family, friends, pets, plants etc. However, as well as being a healing art, Reiki is also a means of self-realisation empowering you to make positive changes.
Most people instinctively know when they are ready for Reiki and the course is open to everyone. No special skills or qualifications are required, only the desire to learn. All you need are your hands.
Reiki training at New Beginnings is limited to very small groups and often one-to-one to ensure individual attention and includes the following:
- Reiki history.
- What Reiki is and isn't.
- Hatsu Lei Ho (5 Reiki principles, Gassho meditation and Joshin Koku Ho breathing technique ).
- Gyoshi Ho - healing with the eyes.
- Koki Ho - healing with the breath.
- Kenyoku Ho - cleansing technique.
- Jacki Kiri Joka Ho - purification technique.
- How to detect energy and scan the aura.
- Chakras and meridians.
- Chakra balancing.
- Western hand positions.
- Working intuitively.
- Self-healing.
- Treating plants with Reiki.
- Animal healing.
- Reiki healing how to give a full treatment.
- Reiki ethics.
Once attuned to the Reiki energy it is yours for life and your investment is £130. This includes lunches and refreshments, a comprehensive Reiki training manual and access to ongoing support. In addition you receive my newsletter containing Reiki and natural health articles and have the opportunity to join other practitioners and deepen your Reiki practice at the Reiki group workshops.
A 21-day self-healing programme follows the workshop and on completion you will receive the 1st Degree certificate of competence.

Not quite sure? Why not come along to an Introduction to Reiki evening and learn a little bit about Reiki history, what it is and isn't and what training at New Beginnings entails. Refreshments are provided along with an information pack and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. It costs £30 and this includes a full Reiki treatment so you can experience Reiki for yourself. However, this workshop is open to students who have been taught Reiki elsewhere but for whatever reason haven’t practised much. Further attunement is not usually necessary and the training is tailored to individual requirements. Consequently, it doesn’t matter how much or little you were taught in the past as the workshop will cover both Western and Japanese techniques and give you the confidence and inspiration necessary to make progress with your practice. Reiki 1 refresher workshops are tailored to individual requirements and arranged at a time and date to suit you.
