MEDITATING WITH REIKI SYMBOLS

Posted at 03:44 PM on November 11, 2009

  • Choose a symbol you would like to focus on.
  • Draw it on the palms of both hands.
  • Say its mantra three times.
  • Place your hands in the gassho position.
  • Begin your meditation focusing on the symbol and repeating its mantra.
  • For example if you have chosen the CKR symbol inhale deeply into the tanden whilst saying  cho (show) silently in your mind.
  • Exhale.
  • Breathe in deeply again and this time say ku (koo).
  • Exhale.
  • Breathe in and this time say rei (ray).
  • Continue in this way feeling the energy building up within your hands.
  • When you are ready open your hands and visualise the CKR inside a ball of Reiki energy within your hands.
  • Carry the ball of Reiki above your crown chakra.
  • Turn your palms down over your head and visualise the Reiki energy entering through your crown chakra and passing through each chakra along your hara line.
  • With palms facing the body trace down your aura whilst visualising a CKR pulsating with golden light entering each chakra in turn pausing at each one and repeating  the mantra three times.
  • Begin with the third eye, throat, heart, the solar plexus, the sacral chakra and finally the root chakra.
  • Return to the gassho position.
  • Give thanks for the gift of Reiki.
  • Cleanse with kenyoku ho.

You can carry out this meditation using any of the Reiki symbols.  (If you don't have Reiki 2 you can carry out the exercise without the symbols focusing on a ball of light in each chakra instead of a symbol).

REIKI COLOUR CHAKRA BALANCE

Posted at 07:23 PM on October 31, 2009

There are several different ways to carry out a chakra balance using Reiki, two of which are outlined in my 1st Degree Reiki manual.  However, this is another method you might like to try incorporating the chakra coloursto balance your own or someone else's chakras.  The procedure can be carried out if you don't have enought time to carry out a full Reiki treatment and will align the chakras.

  • Begin with hatsu lei ho (gassho meditation, chanting the five principles and breathing into the tanden).
  • When you are ready place both hands over the crown chakra whilst visualising it as an orb of pulsating violet light.  Leave your hands in this position for around 5 minutes, depending on how much energy is being drawn in and how much time you have available..
  • Move your hands to rest over the third eye this time visualising the third eye chakra pulsating with indigo light and proceed as above.
  • Continue in this way working down the chakras moving next to the heart and visualising green light; the solar plexus and yellow; the sacral chakra orange and finally the root chakra in red.

Finish off by placing one hand over the crown and the other over the root and wait until you feel the same sensation in both hands indicating they are now in balance.

Finish with kenyoku ho and give thanks to Dr Usui for the gift of Reiki.

REIKI & DREAMWORK WORKSHOP

Posted at 05:29 PM on October 19, 2009

Dream analysis has been practised in every culture throughout history and the many ancient cultures, including the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians who had dream temples dedicated to this practice. Dreams were considered messages from the Gods for healing and predicting future events. Native North Americans and Australian Aboriginals placed great emphasis on their dreams and more recently dreamwork has plated an important role in psychoanalysis as a means of releasing repressed emotions hidden deep within the psyche. Certainly dream interpretation holds the key to the subconscious mind yet only the dreamer can interpret the dream.

To prepare yourself for dreamwork you need to make a commitment to recording your dreams and keep a pen and notepad by your bedside. To assist with dream recall make an affirmation such as ?I will wake refreshed remembering my dreams? repeating it three times. On waking, lie very still and relax for a while instead of jumping straight out of bed. If you are a Reiki practitioner give yourself Reiki for a few minutes and you will find this will help with dream recall. When you are ready jot down the main points of your dream along with the date and time in your notepad. You can flesh it out later when you enter it into your dream diary and even if you don?t think you can remember much of the dream you will find once you begin writing it will activate your memory. Over a period of time you may notice patterns emerging which help with your analysis.

Even if you don?t always remember your dreams, the more value you place on your dreamwork the easier it will become. Indeed, unless we have a sleep disorder, we all dream several times each night as part of the sleep cycle. Often, dreams are simply a reflection of something watched on TV being being vented from our unconscious mind but at other times dreams are symbolic, prophetic or of a spiritual nature. Sometimes we are fully aware we are dreaming. This is known as lucid dreaming and some people find it possible to change the outcome of their dreams whilst others endure years of recurring dreams and nightmares. This type of dream can be disturbing yet like most dreams is an attempt to penetrate our conscious awareness and bring something important to our attention. Therefore, if we make a commitment to understanding and working with dreams our dreamwork will take us on a journey of discovery helping us to find our true path in life.

Dreamwork is healing. Therefore if you would like to unlock the messages hidden deep within your psyche this half-day workshop on Saturday 31st October will help you get started.  Once you have made an initial analysis guided visualisation will take you on a dream journey allowing you to re-enter your dream to gain greater insight finishing with Reiki to accelerate healing.  The workshop begins at 1.00pm and finishes around 5pm and all you need to bring along a selection of two or three dreams to work with along with a pen and pad.   Your investment is £50 and you can reserve your place by calling me on 07963 071632.  As usual places are strictly limited to ensure individual attention.
